Hardware

So, what's inside the EuroLine 6632 DVD-player? It seems to be almost the exact same things as in a EuroLine 6620/United 3151 (with VCD/SVCD capabilities).

All these pictures are from my own EuroLine 6632, so yours may not look exactly the same inside.

This is the inside of my EuroLine 6632. Power supply board to the left, DVD-drive in the middle and a board for IC's to the right. At the top there is a small card for the SCART-socket.

IC board

The PCB that hosts all the IC's in the 6632 looks like this:

PCB of my EuroLine 6632.

Here is a list of components and their function on the board above:

IC Function
ESS VideoDrive ES4318F (DS) Video Processor chip
MediaTek MT1388E DVD-Player Servo/Decoder/µP chip
AVS Technology AV3168 NTSC/PAL Video encoder
MediaTek MT1366F DVD-Player RF Amplifier chip
2 x ESMT M12L16161A-7T 512K x 16Bit x 2Banks Synchronous DRAM (143 MHz)
ESMT M11B416256A-35J 256K x 16 DRAM EDO PAGE MODE (72 MHz)
ST M29F800AT 8Mbit (1M x 8 or 512k x 16, Boot Block) Flash (DVD Firmware)
SST 27SF010-70 128K x 8Bit EEPROM (DVD-drive firmware?)
ROHM BA5954FP CD/DVD-ROM Motor/Actuator Driver
Cirrus Logic CS4340-KS 24-Bit, 96-KHz Stereo D/A Converter for Audio
Texas Instrument HCU04 Hex Inverters
ST C4558 Wide Bandwidth Bipolar Operational Amplifiers

DVD-drive

The DVD-drive is not a standard IDE DVD-drive as it is in many DVD players. It seems to be the same drive in all EuroLine/United players.

The DVD-drive with the tray closed.
The DVD-drive with the tray open.

If you look closer at the DVD-drive, there seems to be very few IC's on the drive itself. So all the IC's needed to control the drive is located on the big IC board.

Here is a closer look at the DVD head. I have taken this picture with the camera located right over the SCART-socket.

Power Supply

Not much to say, it's a power supply with all the things that a power supply usually have:

The PS in my EuroLine 6632.

SCART

There is also a small PCB that contains the SCART-socket.

Not much to say, very simple PCB. As you can see by the number of wires and the marking on the PCB, the SCART-socket has only composite video (and of course stereo-audio also).
