So, what's inside the EuroLine 6650/United 3155 DVD-players? Basically a PCB for all the IC's needed, a power supply board and a DVD-drive.
All these pictures are from my own United 3155, so yours may not look exactly the same inside.
This is the inside of one of my United 3155. |
The PCB that hosts all the IC's in the 6650/3155 looks like this:
The PCB of the United 3155. I assume that the 6650 looks the same as it is the same player but with a different name. |
Here is a list of components and their function on the board above:
IC | Function |
---|---|
ESS VideoDrive ES4408F | Video Processor chip |
MediaTek MT1388E | DVD-Player Servo/Decoder/µP chip |
AVS Technology AV3168 | NTSC/PAL Video encoder |
MediaTek MT1366F | DVD-Player RF Amplifier chip |
2 x ESMT M12L16161A-7T | 512K x 16Bit x 2Banks Synchronous DRAM (143 MHz) |
ESMT M11B416256A-35J | 256K x 16 DRAM EDO PAGE MODE (72 MHz) |
ST M29F800AT | 8Mbit (1M x 8 or 512k x 16, Boot Block) Flash (DVD Firmware) |
Winbond W27C010P-70 | 128K x 8Bit EEPROM (DVD-drive firmware?) |
ROHM BA5954FP | CD/DVD-ROM Motor/Actuator Driver |
AVS Technology AV2188E | 6-channel 24/20-Bit, 96-KHz D/A Converter for Audio |
Texas Instrument HCU04 | Hex Inverters |
3 x ST C4558 | Wide Bandwidth Bipolar Operational Amplifiers |
I have tried to find data sheets for all the chips, but did not find any for "MediaTek MT1388E", "MediaTek MT1366F" and "BA5954FP". If you have data sheets for any of these devices, please contact me!
I also found a little push button on one of the United 3155 PCB's:
The DVD-drive is not a standard IDE DVD-drive as it is in many DVD players. It seems to be the same drive in all EuroLine/United players. I have no specific picture of the 6650/3155 DVD drive, but it looks the same as the 6620/3151 drive.
Not much to say, it's a power supply with all the things that a power supply usually have:
The PS in one of my United 3155. The small PCB on the right is for the phones output. |
There is also a small PCB that contains the SCART-socket. It looks the same as on the 6620/3151 players, and has only composite video (and of course stereo-audio) connected.
If anyone has any more information about the hardware in the EuroLine or United, or can tell me if I have made any errors on this page, please contact me.
