There is usually some way to get a DVD player to be region free. I was not able to find out how to make the NorthQ 7000/7100 region free on the Internet, so I decided to try to find a way myself.
I have previously seen some players that allows you to set the region by opening the players DVD-tray and press a number of digits on the remote control.

So I started with opening the players DVD-tray. |

When I then pressed the "1" button on the remote control I got this, which basically tells me that pressing the "1" key was not very useful. |

But when I pressed the "2" key on the remote, I got no
message at all! All the buttons from "0" to "9", except "2", gave me an "error hand"! |
So from this I just continued to press buttons, checking which button that did not give me an "error hand" after the initial "2" press. After a couple of minutes everything worked out perfectly!
So to make the NorthQ 7000/7100 DVD player region free, just do like this:

Open the players DVD-tray. |

Press the buttons "21252927" on the remote control, you will
then get the message on the left on your TV screen. It turns out that it is also possible to use the code "1597" to do exactly the same thing! Now your player is region free! |

If you want to set back the player to region 2 again, just press "21252927" (or "1597") on the remote control again. |
I have not yet found out how to set the player to a specific region, I am not even sure that it can be done. But to be able to set it to region free is a good start!
As far as I have heard, this hack also sets the NorthQ to be Macrovision free! I have not tested this myself, so I cannot guarantee that it is so.
If someone finds out how to set the NorthQ 7000/7100 to a specific region, please contact me so I can update this page with that information.
