Here is a list of features that the documentation states about both the Denver DVD-176. As far as I know, all DVD-176 players can play both VCD and SVCD. If you have one that can't, please contact me so that I can inform people about it here!

bullet 24-bit/96kHz audio D/A converter.
bullet 3-step zoom/smooth scan.
bullet NTSC/PAL TV system compatible.
