Overview

The Denver DVD-141 is a DVD player that has somewhat "newer" hardware compared to the 6620/6650 / 6632/6652 players.

The Denver DVD-141 can play the following formats:

I have tested the DVD-141 with CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD+RW and it has been able to play all of them! However, it is possible that the player may have problems with certain brands of R/RW discs, but I have no information about this. (I do not have any DVD+R to test with, so if you have the possibility to make a Video-DVD on a DVD+R disc, I am very interested in buying one from you).

Even though there is nothing mentioned about the DVD-141 being able to play VCD/SVCD, I have not yet heard of a DVD-141 that cannot play VCD/SVCD.

The DVD-141 has no built-in DolbyDigital decoder, and no built-in DTS decoder. So the only way of getting DD/DTS sound from this player is to connect it via the coaxial digital output to an external DD/DTS-decoder.

The DVD-141 is able to downmix Dolby Digital 5.1 sound to 2 channel stereo that can be listened to via the analog audio outputs on the back of the player. However, it cannot downmix DTS sound to 2 channel stereo.

It is possible to make the DVD-141 region free or to set a specific region number, look at the Hacks page for information about how to do this.

Another thing that has been added to the DVD-141 is the possibility to choose between RGB and Composite video output on the SCART socket.
