Clones

Here is a list of possible clones to the EuroLine/United:

Clatronic DVD-491
Elta 8891
Conclusion

Clatronic DVD-491

I have no idea if this is correct, but the Clatronic DVD-491 may also be a clone of the EuroLine 6620. It uses the same region-free hack as the Euroline 6620, but it does not look exactly the same as the 6620.

Here is a pdf-document describing the features of the Clatronic DVD-491. It also has a picture of the DVD player.

Elta 8891

I don't know if this is correct either, but the Elta 8891 may also be a clone of the EuroLine 6620. It uses the same region-free hack as the Euroline 6620, but it does not look exactly the same as the 6620.

This is a picture of the Elta 8891 DVD player.

An interresting thing about the Elta 8891 player is that you can download a firmware upgrade from their web-site. Here is a direct link to the firmware.

I know of one person who tried to upgrade his EuroLine 6620 with this firmware (he burned the bank30.rom file on a CD and put it in the player). The 6620 upgrade the player with the new Elta 8891 firmware, but after a power off/on, the player was totally dead! The guy even had to take the player apart to get the CD out of the drive!

So don't try to upgrade the EuroLine 6620 with the Elta 8891 firmware!!! IT WON'T WORK!

Conclusion

There seems to be a number of DVD-players that are very similair in design. Either they are clones of each other, or there are small differences in electronics and/or exterior design.
